How long does it take to replace a roof of a house? This is the most common question that many people have asked. For an average size home and not so damaged usually, it takes 1 to 3 days or even a week to install a new roof. But this answer doesn’t fit to every homeowner's common question, because there are several factors to consider.

Some of the factors that will determine the time spent in installing the roof are:

  • Roofing Materials and Design - Because of its different designs, it also requires a different method that sometimes takes more time than usual. Experts don’t just simply lay all those materials the same way the quickest possible. They need to follow the proper way in order to have a durable output. The average time of replacement of the most common shingles types are:
  • Asphalt Shingles - 1-3 days
  • Wooden Shingles - 6-8 days
  • Concrete Tiles - 8-9 days
  • Slate Tiles - 6-7 days
  • Weather - It is not advisable to replace or install a roof when the weather is not in great condition like snow or rain because the materials won’t be properly installed and it is risky for our roofers to work on icy and slippery roofs.
  • House Size - The bigger the house is, the longer the roof contractors finish the job.
